ROLLERS AND BRUSHES FOR PAINT WORKS

ROLLERS

The most common tool used for painting various surfaces, along with a paintbrush, is a roller. There are a large number of types and sizes of paint rollers that are designed to work with paints and varnishes of any type. The maximum simplicity of the design of this tool, high productivity, practicality, as well as unpretentious use make it indispensable for painting large areas or narrow surfaces.

There are many types of rollers and each of them is intended for a very specific type of work. Paint rollers differ not only in the field of application, but in the size and material of the coat.

Domestic rollers are divided into four groups, each of which has its own markings.

The first letter is always B , which means roller . The second designates the material from which the fur coat is made, and if there is a third letter, then this is the area of application.

Varieties of rollers: VM - fur-coated rollers, suitable for all types of paint;

VMP - rollers with a fur coating for painting floors;

VMU - the same rollers, but intended for painting concave corners;

VP are rollers with a polyurethane ( foam rubber) coating for working with water-based adhesives, well suited for working with varnishes and glue. They cannot be used when working with paintwork materials on solvents, since the solvent contained in them corrodes the foam rubber.

BB - velor rollers, suitable for all types of paint

Recently, a lot of imported rollers have appeared on the market . Their assortment is so great that the need to choose sometimes puzzles even an experienced specialist.

The complexity is also added by the fact that each country of the manufacturer has its own method of classification.

For example, manufacturers in Finland divide rollers into seven groups:

Mini rollers are mainly used for painting small or hard-to-reach surfaces.

Midi - rollers are one of the most common types for hobbyist painters.

The difference between universal and professional rollers is very arbitrary: the criterion for such a division is usually the quality of the coat and the diameter of the rod.

Facade rollers characterized by the presence of an internal intermediate packing and a more perfect bearing system. Thanks to it and the increased diameter, the roller spins more slowly.

Frame rollers are very convenient to work, as they easily bend around irregularities. The peculiarity of these rollers is indicated in their name: the fur coat is not put on a cylinder, like the others, but on a special frame made of wire or polymer.

Specialty rollers are classified into rollers for flooring, corrugated surfaces, aggressive and structural materials, laminating and wallpaper rolling.

BRUSHES

Paint brushes are essential tools for renovation. Paint brushes are used to paint or whitewash surfaces. You can also use these tools for applying primer to any surface, impregnating the surface with drying oil. There is a certain classification of building painting fixtures.

Flange ( flat paint) brush

The flutes brush is designed to work with any paints, varnishes, enamels and drying oils. It is easy to use, it can easily handle places that are inaccessible to round brushes. In addition to their immediate " duties" - working with paintwork materials, flange brushes do an excellent job with other " labor duties" - removing dust in hard-to-reach places, washing surfaces of complex geometric shapes, applying adhesives, gels and any other liquid compositions
