Huawei Watch GT Runner a Most advanced Watch for Runners

In our recent Huawei Watch reviews, we have long noted how suitable the devices are for runners. With precise advanced sensors, they have a lot to offer to those who want to use them for this purpose. With the latest GT Runner watch, the company is taking things a step further.
In many ways, the Watch GT Runner is like the Watch GT 3, but it's made from different materials and more focused on running.
The 46mm case is water resistant to 5 ATM (50 meters), made of polymer fiber, is only 11mm thick and weighs only 38.5 grams without a strap. It's about 4 grams lighter than the GT 3 and nearly 16 grams lighter than the Huawei Watch 3. In other words, it's designed to sit on your wrist without you noticing it's there.

Regardless, it still packs an impressive amount of technology, including Huawei's latest TruSeen 5.0 optical sensor at the bottom.
This sensor system includes eight light-sensitive diodes arranged around an LED block in the center and has allowed Huawei to offer truly accurate wrist-based heart rate monitoring.
It also strives to offer the most accurate GPS tracking available on any smartwatch. Combining dual-band GNSS positioning support for all five major satellite systems, including GPS, Glonass and Galileo, with an innovative floating antenna design, the promised result is an ultra-accurate and responsive route tracking system.
In this "floating antenna" design, the antenna emerges from the main watch case and runs along the lugs of the watch band rather than being stuck inside the watch case itself. Huawei says this design "significantly reduces weight and interference" but also improves GPS connectivity and performance.
Other hardware highlights include a bright 1.43-inch OLED display with an impressive 466x466 resolution and a battery that can last two weeks on a single charge. And when it needs a charge, it can be conveniently charged on a magnetic wireless drive or on the back of a phone with reverse wireless charging.

In combination with high-performance equipment, Huawei has also developed a number of different metrics and plans designed specifically for runners, but for runners of all abilities.
It has its own "Running Ability Index" that uses your cadence, heart rate, pace and form to determine how good you are at running, but can combine this with a dynamic running plan.
You can subscribe to a running plan on Huawei Health, and it will adapt and change based on your performance and fitness, providing you with a plan and schedule to help you achieve whatever goal you set. There are plans for 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon as well as private lessons of varying difficulty that you can access.
Huawei Watch GT Runner will soon go on sale in Europe and will cost 299 euros. Pricing and availability in the UK has yet to be announced.

In honor of Black History Month in the US, Apple is introducing a special strap for Apple Watch owners that you can buy now.
The company released a $99 limited edition Black Unity Braided Solo Loop that encapsulates the colors of the Pan-African flag in a stretchy black band.
You can also download the Unity Lights face for free. Apple has said it is the first person to use "2D ray tracing". This means that the screen "simulates the light and shadow falling on it, and the movement of the hands of the clock simultaneously reveals and hides the light dynamically changing during the day."
There are also various customization options, including the ability to choose between a full screen or circular watch face and black and white color options.
Finally, Apple said it will soon make Afrofuturism-inspired wallpapers available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac via Apple.com, and is planning a variety of content for Black History Month on Apple Podcasts, Apple Music, and other services. Keep in mind that in the US, Black History Month starts on February 1st and ends on March 1st.
